Founder and President of Sandy Joe’s, Sandra Monardo, graduated from the International Academy of Design with a certificate of honors in Interior Design.
Following her studies, Sandra longed to soul-search while finding her inner self, to discover the secret to her own identity. She booked a one-way ticket to Paris, France. Whilst there, Sandra attended school, absorbed Parisian influence, studied diverse design styles, and discovered her own love of European culture while being captivated by their way of life. She felt such a connection during her stay in Paris, visiting all the castles, as if she had been there before in a previous life. She wandered through the avenues, passing each arrondissement as if she always knew. While walking through time, absorbing and indulging in the most beautiful architectural antiques in a world of such ancient times, she was inspired. It was there that she realized once more how much she adores design and decorating. She is excellent to the point of perfection with interiors; she can do it countless times over and over again, with her eyes closed, and is always able to achieve inimitable designs with new (or in her case, historic) distinctive looks and feelings. Upon her return home, she became apprehensive about the spotlight on modern, minimalist interior design, and a world consumed by fast-paced living and spiritual numbness. Unlike the European cities she fell in love with, the romantically rich form of art had become locked in history – it was out of that void that Sandy Joe’s Interior Design Ltd. was born. Bringing home with her devotion, love and appreciation of the ancient world, all of her designs, inspirations and creativity come from the French-Parisian, Italian-Renaissance and English-Country old worlds. In designing, she has already captured, created, shaped and formed her own identity, the keys to unlocking the creations of sophistication. With an ability to achieve her designs with distinctive looks and feelings, Sandra challenges herself in new ways to attain the highest intensity of results. Sandy Joe’s showroom, located on the third floor of a historic Yorkville converted townhouse, acts as a showcase for her love of ancient, unique antique furnishings, fixtures, and finishes. With a superbly developed expertise in embellishing, Sandra has the ability to work on multiple projects with strong conceptualization skills. Born with an eye for detail, she has a sound knowledge of design ethics, as well as an appreciation for creating a warm work and/or living environment. With each project she utilizes her visual communication skills and solid sense of space planning, implementing the learned theory of interior design and past hands-on design experience. Fluent in both English and Italian, with conversational French language skills, Sandra consistently engages in classes and courses needed to better her skills for her clients. She works to understand the needs and the perspectives of each client, constantly traveling around the world to discover ancient antiques, old markets, and products and furnishings of the highest exclusivity to bring a piece of her heart into the heart of your homes. “My clients are individuals who rely on my ability to design and generate new ideas and trends for their personal or business life,” Sandra says. “My career objective is to effectively pursue my skills, knowledge and creativity within interior design to improve both businesses and residential communities.” |
